30 years of innovation

It is as if Jeff were born with a pencil in his hand and a blank canvas in front of him.  The man is a true artist.  His vision exceeds comprehension, and his thoughtful nature transpires to the spaces he creates.  He can extract your needs, create a vision, and articulate a tailor-made design like he had literally been living inside your head.  That, ladies and gentleman, is value beyond measure.

In 1979, Jeff started framing homes in Garden City and continued to learn the craft of construction on-site until 1989. It was in that year that Jeff started working for Robl construction. He worked his way up from providing warranty work to becoming a job superintendent in a short order of time. He would regularly manage 15 to 17 homes at one time. This experience would prove to be invaluable, but Jeff’s vision and creativity landed him at the helm of Chief Designer for Robl Construction where he graced us all with cutting edge designs and innovation for 22 years. It was in that design role that Jeff perfected his craft of working with clients on custom designs, preparing pricing sheets for them, and helping them achieve their dreams of building a one-of-a-kind, custom home.

Some of Jeff’s noteworthy accomplishments over the years include:

Victory In The Valley - Jeff designed and built a carriage garage to match existing architecture which was completed in a mere 60 days. He put in his own blood, sweat, and tears as well as worked alongside subcontractors and suppliers. His leadership allowed the project to receive 80% funding through generous donations.

Homes for the Troops 2013 - Jeff, with a team of other industry professionals, donated their talents to install approximately 2500 sf/ft. of engineered wood flooring.

Jeff has served on the Wichita Area Builder’s Association (WABA) Retention Board for over a decade and has served as the Chairman of Retention for three terms.

He has also served as Chairman of WABA’s membership committee for three terms.

His leadership and service did not stop there. He also served Chairman of the board for WABA for a one year term in 2013

He continues to stay actively involved at the Builder’s Association serving on an additional two sub-committees involving shear wall and code book amendments.

Barkitecture - Jeff constructed a fire plug dog house to be sold at auction where the proceeds went towards the Kansas Humane Society and he also dreamt up and built a Dr. Seuss influenced dog home that would be auctioned as well with the proceeds going towards the Wichita Children's Home.

Lastly, if you have ever stepped foot in a home over the last 30 years that was part of the Parade of Homes and saw a “Pick of the Parade” ribbon, or “Most Effective Design” ribbon, Jeff has earned those honors on more homes than he can count.
